On our second day, we headed to a housing authority for the first time. We would then spend the rest of the week working there, serving people by cleaning their homes and doing yardwork so that we would have opportunities to encourage believers and share the gospel with the lost.
Hannah and I were able to read Bible stories to Rachel who can’t see well.
John was able to share the gospel with Charles (who we saw MANY times) while Anna beat the dust out of carpets in the background.
Everyone worked really hard at cleaning. In most of the houses it was light, routine work that people were unable to do only because of age or illness. In a few houses though, some serious scrubbing and disinfecting was needed.
Everyone worked really hard. Savannah became an expert at cleaning bathrooms, and Cassie specialized in tubs. Ashley and Hannah mastered all types of sweeping, mopping and dusting, and I wonder if Anna’s parents know how much she likes to wash dishes… It was definitely a team effort!
