Hanna’s Heart 2014

For you have need of endurance…

that when you’ve done God’s will, you receive what was promised

Hanna,

we’re going to run.

Together.

We’re going to run.

Uphill, but you won’t be tired.

I will be the very air in your lungs.

Every breath you breathe.

I heard these words from the Lord a year ago as I sat atop a mountain in Ecuador. I never imagined what they would look like as they came into being. The last 17 months have been a marathon-an all-consuming, life-changing, completely unbelievable journey into the very depths of God’s heart. I’m a fairly industrious person, rarely idle, always over-committed, but I have never run so far or so fast in all my life!

As Leadership Development Manager

I oversee 15 people who work to recruit, train and coach extraordinary leaders for our 150+ mission projects each year. We find new leaders and maintain relationships with experienced veterans. We host two Project Leader Candidate Camps, two launch events and our annual Project Director Training Summit. We place leaders with specific teams and provide ongoing field support and emergency backup while they facilitate 4000+ participants per year in 31 global locations.

As I recruit and train leaders, I spend between 30-50% of my time traveling and training them on-field. This year, I have served in each of the locations below, and you can read my favorite ministry stories or watch a short video from each by clicking them below:

e APPALACHIA Discover how Mack found Jesus!
While leading a family trip, I helped a troubled teen find her lost faith!

e CHICAGO Praise the Lord for Right Place, Right Time!
Working with the same team for the third time in three years, we hosted a block party and saw a local man give his life to Jesus before moving away.

e ECUADOR Learn how pedicures change lives!
I loved teaching preschool and helping 4-year old Maria Paz learn about Jesus with my broken Spanish!

e NEW ORLEANS Read stories and watch video from my November team!
3 trips this year and I’ve fallen head over heels for this unusual place and it’s unique people and culture…

e NEW YORK CITY Take a look at Jerri’s story!
I joined 500+ participants helping with Hurricane Sandy Relief.

e WESTERN PA Updates on a project that continues, 4 years strong!
Still my favorite, it’s always a joy to return there, and I will continue serving there for a fourth year!

Running the Race in 2014

Do not throw away your confidence…

My righteous one shall live by faith!

As I continue running, I am truly trusting the Lord and pressing in deeply to discover all that He has for my life, for my organization and for the lives of those we touch. God is so faithful to hold me close to His heart every step of the way.

Nothing challenges my devotion to Christ more than my busy schedule. Though it seems like a missionary would obviously spend time with Jesus daily, I have to wake up every morning and consciously choose to seek Him before I get going. Please pray that I will be as faithful to the Lord as He has been to me, and in increasing measure!

In addition, please pray for our Leadership Development staff (above), ministry setup and partners, volunteer leaders, and our participants. Finally, please pray ask God to provide for my finances. As a non-profit, Adventures missionaries live off the financial partnership of other believers.

Please prayerfully consider joining my team!

Just like last year, I will receive a stipend from my department, but I am required to raise $6,000 of my annual salary. I’d really like to raise all of this by March 1st so that I can focus 100% on ministry during our busiest season (March to October). If you can help, please click hereIf 60 people could donate $25/month for the next 4 months, I will be fully funded!

Thank you in advance for your new or continued partnership with my ministry.

I could not do this without you and your prayers!!

Because this is a partnership, please let me know how I can be praying for and serving you and your families. Though I’m often busy, social media makes it so easy to stay in touch so please keep me up-to-date on your lives. I love you all so much!
