Tuesday afternoon, we made our first visit to Emmanuel Orphanage.  We arrived just in time for playtime, and we had a ball getting to know the kids.  They are so sweet and very welcoming.

That same afternoon, they had a performance for us.  We sat in front of them, and they took turns doing song and dance numbers for us.  All of them were praises to the Lord.

Then came the part that broke my heart.  All 300 orphans stood up and started singing worship songs togehter.  It was the most beautiful sound, and it was LOUD.  These kids cried out to the Lord with ALL their hearts.

Many times, I have visited large churches and heard the congregation singing, but nothing I have experienced even comes close to the volume and the joy of worship that I saw in these children.  It was indescribable.  I could only respond with tears.  As they streamed down my face, I praised the Lord for the beautiful light that these children are for Christ in a dark land.

These children possess almost nothing, they lack affection, and their lives seem pretty mundane.  Yet, these children have more than most of us have ever owned.  They know the Lord, they love Him, and He is more than enough for all of their needs.
