This morning our team led the chapel service at Bay Area Rescue Mission. Attendees included homeless people who wanted to eat breakfast at the mission as well as those in the recovery and transitional housing programs. Two of our students led worship, one shared a testimony, and then our worship leader (Carl) preached on Luke 7:36-50.
Carl challenged the people to consider how the Pharissess AKA “high and mighty religious people” disrespected Jesus by not washing his feet or kissing him when he came over for dinner, but a woman of questionable background realized who Jesus was and gave everything she owned to honor Him. Jesus told her that her faith had saved her, and Carl challenged all of us to come to Jesus in the same way. He then led several people in a prayer of salvation. Praise the Lord!
