“We’re so grateful that you’re here because I know that, in just a little while, I’m going to look around me and see you guys leading the little darlings here to Jesus…”

So began our initial team meeting with Jimmy the Jimmster, also known as Pastor Jimmy from Vickery Baptist Church.  After the teams arrived on Sunday (one from 30 minutes away in Texas, and one all the way from Manitoba, Canada), our ministry hosts lost no time in orienting us to the area.
The 40+ apartment complexes that form the Vickery Meadows area house thousands of refugees from all over the world: Burmese, Butanese, Nepali, Iraqui, Haitian, Karin and more.  In addition, there’s a large immigrant population from Mexico and some more minority groups.
This whole week, our teams will focus their attention on children’s ministry in three locations, reaching out to more than 150 kids per day.  Please pray for us to boldly share the love of Christ with children.
